Snickerdoodles
1 cup soft shortening (1/2 butter)
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cup flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
Cinnamon sugar: 2 TBSP sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon.
Mix shortening, sugar, eggs thoroughly. Blend all dry ingredients; stir in. Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Roll in mixture of 2 TBSP sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon. Place 2 inches aport on ungreased cooking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 min.
